Step 1: Applying for a Spot- Please note. Applications for September 2026 will open mid-April.

It’s important to upload all requested documents when you submit your application. Our team will review it for completeness, and only those who meet the requirements will move forward. Please note that falsifying information will not be tolerated.
Step 2: Orientation and Pre-Admission Requirements
If your application meets the criteria, we will send you an email with your application number, which you should use in all correspondence and instructions on how to pay the $250 non‑refundable application fee.
You will be sent the link to download the Registration Package, which includes the CDSBEO medical form that must be completed by your doctor or nurse practitioner. We recommend making an appointment as soon as possible to get this filled out. In addition, you must complete the required online orientation modules through CLRI and Care Passport. These take approximately three hours, and you will need to upload your certificates as proof of completion. You will not be accepted into the program unless all paperwork has been completed and uploaded to your closest program site. We recommend that you complete your pre-admission requirements as soon as possible. Registration will be closed for all locations if the maximum class enrollment of 25 students is reached. Waitlists will be created once a site is full.
The deadline to submit Step 2 paperwork for September 2026 is August 14th 2026.
Step 3: Conditional Acceptance; Interview, Literacy Assessment & Documentation Review
After completing Step 2, your registration form will be reviewed by our staff, who with then reach out to schedule an entrance interview. Please bring all original documents with you to the interview. During this step, you'll also complete the CDSBEO Reading and Writing Comprehension Assessment and an oral interview. Interviews will be scheduled at the end of January or August.
Step 4: Final Acceptance
If you meet all requirements and successfully complete Step 3, you will be placed on the class list. At that point, final payment for the program will be required.
RE-ENTRY PSW STUDENTS
Students may re-enter the program if they are within a maximum of two years from their point of REGISTRATION and have achieved a minimum of one or more credits in the program. If longer than the two years, the theory portion of the program will need to be repeated; candidates should re-apply as a new student, see registration above. Registration is contingent on availability in the program. Students will be contacted a week before the start of class and must attend the in-person interview. Students wishing to attend the practicum portion of the program will need to ensure their Vulnerable Sector Check and Medical Form is current within 6 months of issue.
