Information for Parents

Online courses offered through the CDSBEO Con Ed program throughout the school year are intended for those 18+ who are looking to complete their OSSD or gain prerequisites for a college or university program. The courses we offer are asynchronous.

All courses offered through the Con Ed. Online programs satisfy the requirements for these credits as specified by the Ministry of Education documents. In each course, the specific expectations of each module are stated at the outset and can be compared to those stated on the Ministry of Education website.

Each course has an instructor assigned to a class of students. The instructor is a professional teacher, licensed in Ontario, with extensive experience in the classroom and a strong background in online learning.

During the summer, parents of students under 18 years of age are welcome to correspond with their child’s instructor and keep up to date on the student’s performance in an e-Learning course. Please provide a parental email address on the registration form when you register your student. This information will be passed along to the instructor.

Please note that students currently registered in one of our high schools must receive Principal and Superintendent approval to take an online night course throughout the school year. Registered students have limited access to online courses through the Catholic Virtual Ontario Consortium. Students are required to reach out to their guidance counsellors for more information and to register.
